on tony hawkproject 8 ... for ps3?

so for tony hawk project 8 for the ps3 ... when i ollie or w/e i click both analog sticks. but i can never land them. why? is it because i tilt the controller too much? do i need to click them again to end it? what am i doing wrong

how do i nail the trick in other words after i click the analog sticks?
