Is it? Or is it just that culture? We don't know, but we can use our minds. Every bible (or religious book) has an end. But maybe its not the end to all exsistance. What do you think?

2012? What is that?

Is that according to the Gregorian Calendar? The Roman Calendar? The Jewish Calendar? Oh wait, its already like 5767 according to them. The Mayan Calendar?

Who says 2012? I remember reading about Terrence McKenna always predicting some kind of awesome cosmic shift occurring at 2012 and that we would all move into the "eternal" or something like that. But he got anxious and went early (brain cancer).

The end of the world has been predicted thousands of times. Millons probably. The only "end of the world" that matters to you is your end, and it WILL come, whether or not you share it with the rest of the planet or not. It doesn't matter, either way, it's your end.

Of course, it would be nice to know if the world were to end in 2012. I would definetely do some things differently. I would take out tons of money on credit and have a blast. But that wouldn't be a good idea, considering EVERY prediction of doomsday has been wrong, so far.

Here's something funny I read the other day. I'll post the link at the bottom, but I'll quote this one part right here. It's about this meteor or comet impact that happened in Russia in 1908 and pretty much the only witnesses were the local peasants:

"Perhaps the earliest widely-held theory for the Tunguska explosion was that the world was about to end. As the minutes passed, this theory was dropped in favour of other, less final theories, until today one is hard-pressed to find anyone who truly believes the world ended on the morning of 30 June 1908..."

Right, well the world did end for someone that day, just not in connection with that explosion or with the end of the whole world.

I'll post another link to another funny article. See the 2nd link.

The third link says that over 150,000 people die every day, which sounds about right, and it also counts how many people have died since you loaded their website. Then it tries to convert you to their religion, but whatever.

If you're referring to some prophecy that you've heard of, then forget it. There appears to be something that is going to happen on December 12 that year, i.e. 12/12/12, but frankly, *anything* like this that is based on calendar dates is pure garbage. Don't forget the calendar is our invention, and not all countries or races use it. The year 2001 on our calendar was not the year 2001 in the Hebrew or Muslim calendar. You can concoct all kinds of interesting dates, such as 20 February 2002 (= 20/02/2002), but in America this would be written as 02/20/2002, so even using the common year the dates can be interpreted differently.
People have been predicting the end of the world for ages, and unless the date they're giving is when the sun expands in billions of years and swallows the Earth, I wouldn't think any are worth putting money on, and even then you're not going to be around to collect on it!

My guess is that the so-called psychics and mediums are going to have to come up with a new date of doomsday/imminent disaster once 2012 comes and goes without incident. And the sad thing is that people will all jump on the bandwagon for that too, just like they're doing for 2012 now. I remember when 2003 was supposed to be a big disastrous year...so much for that...

no.
The universe will come to an end when all the hot things get colder and all the cold things get hotter.
To explain(!): Everything reaches a natural state of equilibrium, when that happens the universe, and the earth with it will come to an end. If you dont feel like waiting that long then the earth as we know it will come to an end when our sun finally kicks the bucket.

According to one of the alleged Bible codes the Yellowstone volcano will change the world as we know it first in 2010.Someone will most likely survive somewhere and in someway. So I would say the world as we now know it regardless. Maybe it just goes thru a new Genesis or new beginning.Behold I shall make all things new?

Er....no. People have been preaching and listening to prophecies about the end of world since civilization began. Hasn't happened yet has it. Every time one of these 'significant dates' passes by someone comes up with a new one. Really its all meaningless since our system of numbering years is entirely arbitrary.
