Touchy subject. Jimmy the Greek once brought up selective breeding by slave holders as a reason black athletes dominate sports in America. His career took a down turn soon after, even though his statement was supported by some in the black community. Any comparisons between racial/ethnic groups is taboo since it opens the door to make comparisons in intellectual abilities, which is the real no-no.
Darwin of course is not PC, so any group exposed to new environmental pressures will try to adapt. When a pandemic sweeps thru a population, the survivors have resistance to pass on. Slaves brought to the new world would also experience adaptation thru natural selection, in addition to any artificial breeding practices. Something certainly happened to help 11% of the population dominate sports. However, some of this may have been in place already, since most Africans were leading more rugged lifestyles than the typical American immigrant.

It is always possible. Those with stronger wills to live, stronger immune systems, have more skills for daily life, are smarter and faster in figuring out problems; those are the ones who tend to survive. Multiply that by several hundred years, and you can get a population with more of what is necessary to survive in that particular enviorment. It would be an interesting thing to research.

Bunk.
How often have you seen Australians win anything at the Olympics.
And, my, can those Kenyans run.
You could also submit (falsely) that these are actually weaker individuals as they were caught and forced from their homelands.

Perhaps a while ago (re:Australians) but there have been so many immigrants from Europe and everywhere else since then. Nice theory though, no doubt there is reserch on it somewhere. People don't highly publicise cultural/racial superiority material though, even if it is true.

Slave traders often only allowed certain slaves to reproduce intentionally creating fitter african americans. This is more artificial selection than evolution.

What you are proposing is artificial selection and there is no empirical support for any such plan being in place anywhere.
