Okay here is the deal... I get cramps so bad, it feels like a horse kicked me right in the ovaries. I take Midol, I use a heating pad... it doesn't work... I can't take birth control pills, any other suggestions? The pain is so bad, I call into my job sometimes... Is there anyone out there that knows of some homeopathic way to get rid of these horrific things????

My gyn has said I have ovarian cysts, but that they are normal... that women get that... I have been checked for endometrosis and everything else under the sun... all is good in the land... but I still suffer from the cramps....

The only suggestions I know of:
Non pill way try: THERMACARE WRAPS
Med wise if you decide to try them again.:
Try IBP orThermaCare HeatWraps are made of comfortable, wearable cloth-like material that conforms to your body's shape to provide therapeutic heat — wear them at work or during other activities without anyone else knowing. Each wrap contains small discs made of natural chemical ingredients that heat up when exposed to air, providing at least 8 hours of continuous, low-level therapeutic heat exactly where you need it — for up to 24 hours of powerful pain relief and deep muscle relaxation. ThermaCare not only delivers relief from muscle, joint and ***MENSTRUAL PAIN*** but also temporary relief from arthritis.
Try Pamprin:
PAMPRIN® Multi-Symptom for
Cramps
Bloating
Irritability
Headache
Backache
PAMPRIN® All Day
Up to 12 Hours Relief of
Menstrual Cramps
Muscle Aches
Headaches
Backaches
PAMPRIN® Cramp
For relief of
Cramps
Bloating
Headache
Backache
P.s. If you know when your period schedule you can start taking a regimen of IBP before the cramps start and this should lessen or eliminate them during your period. And even though the package says 2 its OK to take 3 for your first dose of your regimen if your period has already started.
**It takes time for any meds to kick in... At least 30 mins.**

That's tough! Luckily, I've had mild cramps that didn't last long, but I've known women who get bedridden for three days every month from cramps! There are many herbal remedies said to help with cramps from different cultures. It may be as simple as a cup of raspberry tea! Here is some info for you: http://www.mothernature.com/Library/Bookshelf/Books/41/84.cfm Also, not to be crude, and in all seriousness, I have read that sex (in specific an orgasm) can relax the muscles and help with cramping. Of course, we're not usually in the mood at that time unfortunately! =) Also, www.mothernature.com in general has some great natural remedies. And I'm pretty sure you can order some of the herbs from the site if you can't find them in your local health food store or supplement store. Take Care.

Advil, Midol, or Tylenol should work for cramps. I see Midol doesn't work but have you tried Advil? And my doctor told me that if you bleed a lot, you should take 3 Advil every 8 hours the day before you bleed a lot and then all through the days you bleed a lot. It really does work. Make sure you take it with food though.
Also, try taking a hot bath to soothe your pain.
My older sister has always had extremely severe cramps and the heating pad didn't work. She went on birth control and it has helped. Since you can't take birth control, I would say to try Advil once and if that doesn't work, ask your gynecologist or physician. They could probably prescribe something. :-)

See your doc to rule out endometriosis, an ovarian tumor/cyst or anything worse. I get it really bad too and doc gave me 550 mg of naproxin (Aleve) which helps somewhat. I ran out once and took 2 Aleve and 2 Advil and was pain free all day. Different NSAID's work in different ways and sometimes combining them can do better than taking 3-4 of one thing.
Be careful how often as too much can wreak havoc on your digestive system...I do this only 2-3 days a month.
I also read that taking calcium/magnesium supplemetns can help, not sure how well though.
I don't know of any homeopathic remedies off hand, but I have heard of a couple (some kind of bark, i think)
Make an appt with your OB/GYN. And I hope yours is better than mine. She gave me pain meds, told me I was just constipated and said "c ya next year for your annual"....I'm still suffering!!
Best of luck to you!

Have you tried Pamprin?
When I have severe cramps Pamprin, curled up in the fetal position with all lights out, and a heating pad on my tummy, helped. a LITTLE bit.
Talk to your doctor about it, hopefully they have something to help.
Sorry to hear!
Why can't you take birth control pills?

I know what you are talking about...
I've tried about everything, natural remedies included, and the only thing that works for me is two advils every 4 hours for 24 hours (I even wake up during the night to avoid the pain starting again). If I take them at the beginning of the pain, it is bearable.
Another thing that helps me is a small amount of alcohol (my grandma's remedy). It relaxes muscles so it helps a lot. Only thing, you cant really go to work using that trick...

Yeah I would first check with your doctor, it could be ovarian cysts. I had them - don't worry that doesn't mean cancer or anything just could be a harmless cyst. I didn't need to have them removed or anything but it was good to know. If it is just cramps try acupuncture if you are open to that, works for me!

it might help if you increase your water intake, exercise, and ask your doctor about it. there could be some funky stuff going on in your uterus. its better to be safe than sorry plus the doctor could suggest some remedies for you. visit the local organic market or health food store. someone there can point out some suppliments or something that may help/may hinder you.
