The USSR never managed to send anyone to the Moon. All of their N-1 Moon rockets failed shortly after launch during unmanned tests and they subsequently abandoned the project. your mention of the Berlin Wall suggests that you are confused by another missison in Earth orbit. An astronaut had been on the MIR space station, but by the time he came down, the Soviet Union, which had launched him, had collapsed, and when he returned, he was a citizen of Russia.

You seem to be forgetting the fact that the Soviet Union never put a man on the moon to begin with. Just a minor point...

Actually, it's not a man, but a woman.

Alice Kramden's body was found there. 8^D

[For those of you that are too young to remember, in the old TV program, "The Honeymooners", Ralph Kramden (Jackie Gleason), used to always threaten his wife with "One a these days, one a these days, Alice, 'POW' - to da moon!"]
