First, when mosoquitos's land, they apply a nerving agnet to make your skin numb before they insert there needle like mouth into the skin.usually, if you didnt see the insect land, and you catch it when its just siting there,it has already bitten. hope that helped.

Not always they have to get placed first. It's the mosquitos saliva that humans have a reactions to.

They start to bite but it takes them time to piece the skin layers. I have been able to flick mossies away before they bite me. You can feel them starting.
