For the Mars Volta... try some "At The Drive-In" and "Sparta". (espically sSparta. MV is a two members of At The Drive-In and Sparta is the leftovers.)
For the Deftones... some "Team Sleep" or "Finch". Listen and you'll know why.
For Tool and APC... try out some "Taproot".

How have you ever not listened to those bands?? The Mars Volta are friggin' mind-blowing!!! The De-Loused interior the Comatorium album is my admired and the final song from that album is Roulette Dares. For the Deftones White Pony is my fav album, and the final song from that album is replace. those 2 bands are wonderful, you will love them!!
