Religion is one of the forbidden topics among friends or acquaintances. You generally end up in a heated discussion and everyone walks away with hurt feelings. Religion and politics are no-no's!!!

I don't bring up religious topics because I don't like talking about religion...I usually get somebody trying to shove their ideals down my throat and then that's what makes me angry...I don't need people pushing their beliefs off on me then denigrating mine because I'm not even the same religion as them.

Religion is a volatile topic; it's best to just keep it under the radar, of if it must be brought up, stay as quiet and NEUTRAL as possible. People are staunch advocates of what they believe in...and trust me, many friendships have ended over this same issue.

Yes, it is very common. When I talk about religion ,I change
the subject if I see that somebody contradicts whatever I say.

TBTD,
I'm Catholic and I have found out that most people prefer to stay private with there feelings in religious matters. Anytime you invade someones privacy it does tend to make them mad, so I would have to say Yes to your question. I don't hide the fact that I'm Catholic, but on the other hand I don't flaunt it either. Happy New Year, may God be with you.

Yeah, i've had that happen as well. As a general rule, I exclude politics and religion in my conversations unless I know I'm around my fellow thinkers.

Religion & politics. Two subjects that are traditionally forbidden over many dinner tables because of the hostility that arises.

Yeah, in a way...
I'm not very religious either and my parents are pressuring me into going to the thing tomorrow, but I have to endure it, eh?
I can just ignore it and not let it get to me... I'm only 15, so it's not like I can really go against them...
People also get very heated about it and go on about the whole history...
Don't shove it down my throat, please. I have a choice.
