Not illegal. In some nations in Europe it's illegal, but that's a terrible law. If someone denies the Holocaust, they should be met with massive protest and thoroughly (and easily) refuted. Making opinion illegal is a very bad idea.

Hello =)
Nope, we can say whatever we like, as an opinion. If we go too far, however, as to say that someone who DOES believe that the holocaust exists is lying, then it becomes a matter of slander.
I can say many stupid things, like, "I deny that those who believe that the holocaust did not take place, do not exist." for example, which is a true statement, from my point of view. Since, in my opinion, those who deny the holocaust are deluding themselves, and, in truth, actually do believe in the holocaust.
How's that for perversity??
Namaste, and Happy New Year,

You can say it didn't happen, but, to what end? Nobody in the sane world believes it didn't happen, so you basically paint yourself as a nutjob. There is nothing you could say that would convince anyone with a grip on reality that this did not happen.

I dont know but it seems weird to have a law like that. I beleive the holocaust happened as I have talked to people who were in concentration camps in ww2 in germany. But Im not sure about making laws about someones opinion that it didnt happen.

I doubt it's illegal.....& I have heard some people actually say those words "oh the Jews made that up, it didn't happen" & well, I can't do anything but shake my head in shame & disgust at their blindness, ignorance & stupidity.

I don't think so but I would hope people wouldn't go that way. It did happen and we need to recognize the evil that caused it to prevent anything like this happening again. It is the reason that Saddam is being hung, we have to recognize it and stop it.

no, making false statments is not illegal,
It can be of course if you were a school teaching trying to teach it in school, Or if you were doing it in a manner to discriminate against the thier race.
In general no it is not illegal, not that anyone in US would beleive it, since most are educated and know better.

Opinions and the act of thinking are two things the government can never take away no matter how hard they try. But seriously?

Absolutely not, our first amendment protects speech. I'd rather have the freedom, even if it means listening to the occasional lunatic.
