Like those answers above me it could be a zero or it could be a sign for "no". Like if there's a picture of a cigarette in the middle it would mean no smoking.

An "O" with a slash through it is one way of representing the "number" zero. It is often done by Europeans when writing longhand, although I believe that some older ( like 1970's ) computers started doing this to help make zero distinct from the letter "O". As to why the Europeans do it? Probably the same reason they cross their 7's and Z's

It means zero. The slash is there to prevent anyone form adding a digit in front of it.

it just a way some ppl do their o but it also means that the amswer to a problem is absolute, which means the problem is untrue
