It depends on the store. A local jeweler where I live charged $27.00 per whole size; the name-brand popular jewelry store charged $35. for the same thing (both upwards or downwards). It can also take a few days or so, because it takes some time to work on it.

Usually when you buy a ring at a nicer jewelry store they will resize it for free. It depends on the material of the ring (silver, gold, platinum) if you are going to pay for it. It probably costs more to "size up" than to "size down" since they have to add metal to your ring.

I believe it would cost no more than $30-$40 just by looking around on the net. (Not sure since all of mine were free)

Cost depends on the jeweler, the store you bought it at should give you a good deal or no cost if sizing down. $30 is about average.

Sometimes if you buy other jewelry there, the store might re-size for free. Otherwise I think it only costs about $20.
