In the sense do they have photographers following each celebrity or do photographers just stay at hot spots and wait for celebrities to come?

Or is there a whole network that says the locations of the celebrities? Because in most places I see celebrities swarmed by multiple photographers.

If anybody knows the insight, please answer with further details. Would be very appreciated. Thank you!

Most photographers work by themselves as that's where the money is. Being the first person to get the latest photo of so and so. Many times they know an event is going to happen, so there's already a ton of photographers waiting for them. Other's may drive around looking for special people to get a shot of. Or follow them if they see someone leave a hot spot. Many people don't like photographers....But I never hear of any of these over-paid celebs complain about the money they make.

From the documentary on paparazzi I saw, they work for "companies". These companies get tips of locations of specific celebrities and phtographers are dispatched to these places.
However some hot spots for celebrities always have swarms of paparazzi to snap whoever shows up.
The photographer can then sell their photo to a magazine. From what I understand, individual magazines don't hire photographers as in being on a salary. (I could be wrong, as I only have one example)
