Probably not. I think they would feel safer if Bush was dead. I know I would.

That's a very good question.
Unfortunately, I don't think we have a very firm grasp on just what the Iraqi people think - about anything.
Despite the general theme of a lot of the discussion on this forum - we must remember that it isn't the United States that convicted Saddam - it was an Iraqi court with an Iraqi jury.
I'm sure there will be followers who will be hell bent on revenge - even Jim Jones and Charles Manson have their followers.
The bigger the Islamic terrorist magnet that Iraq becomes, the better for our war on terror.

No, believe it or not Saddam was a stabilizing force that we supported for years. There is a real problem in Islam and the radicals on each side are going to kill each other. We have not been able to stop it. It is a kind of Cain and Abel story. The feeling of safety and security is false. The recovery will come when the imperial forces let the radical idiots work this problem they have out. Cain and Abel happened in the same time period give or take a thousand years.

No, even as Saddam change into the chief he kept the terrorist out, shot them on sight. i imagine the human beings of Iraq wish Saddam change into nevertheless there a minimum of they'd water, food, faculties, and lifeless bodies change into not laying throughout their streets. they'd carnival they have not something now yet a damaged Iraq. Bush's dad , Rumsfield and each of the others gave Saddam the ammunition to strike different international places and then hung him for it.

Bad as it may be here. I'm glad I'm not over there wondering.
Imagine how you'd feel if you knew the Iraqi guy was about to come over and start knocking. The folks kill with apparently very little concern. Torture jus cuz you are not one of the same club? And then death by having your head lopped off .... and watch/while you wait?
Different kinds of approaches that way

No. Saddam has been in custody for a long time now and thousands have died anyway. I think they will feel safe once the US withdraws, and Iraq restabilizes. We all know it will just revert back to a dictatorship again eventually.

Like citizens under most dictatorships, they will be too afraid to celebrate in the streets as many of his henchmen and factions are still around.
But yes, it is a turning point.

Not necessarily.
The peoples that Hussein targeted for execution are the ones that will cheer his demise.
Those that supported him all along will hate and kill even more.
It's a vicious cycle of never-ending suspicions, hatred and revenge.
