I got stretch marks on my thighs - they started appearing on my hips around 30 weeks, but they didn't get bad until I went into labor. I was put on pitocin for 14 hours and I swelled up a lot. A day after my son was born, I noticed that I had stretch marks all over my thighs. I blame them on the swelling from pitocin. My son is 9 months now and the marks have mostly faded.

As for the stretch marks, I never got any either and used the palmers lotion EVERYDAY. I have used the same lotion throughout this pregnancy and have yet to get ONE stretch mark. I think that if you are going to get them it is inevitable...it wont matter what you try and do to prevent them. I think its kind of hereditary too. My grnadmother or mother didnt get them and I didnt either. My sister in law has them horribly and so does her mom and her grandmother. maybe coincidence though, who knows. Most women that I know who do have them started getting them around the 20-25 week mark.....when your belly really hits the growth spurt. I would say that if you dont have them now at 30 weeks, you probably wont get them. but keep putting on those lotions b/c they cant hurt! And as for the baths, I took hot baths up until the day I delivered my first daughter and my doctor said it was fine. I take them all the time and I am now 33 weeks pregnant with my second. So far so good..no harm done! Congrats to you !

I imagine that if you've been gaining steadily all along you would have had stretch marks by now.....I'm at 40 weeks and don't have them, but a lot of that is genetics. My mom never had them either. The lotions and creams and stuff are great for moisturizing your skin, but they really don't do anything for stretch marks because these occur under the skin and have to do with the elasticity of the skin...something that you really can't change even though it would be nice!
I'd stay away from baths while pregnant...it probably hasn't affected the baby but it's a good idea not to raise your body temperature in that way, just in case.

The bath temp should not be more than 100 degrees, i used our home hot tub during my last two pregnancies and my dr said as long as it was kept clean and the temp was below 100 and I didn';t sit in it for more than 20 minutes at a time I would be fine. As for the stretch marks the only place I got them was on my breasts and that was in the beginning because they grew so fast. That is what causes stretch marks. Stretching of the skin really fast. I used coco butter and it worked good at keeping my skin soft and flexible. Good luck.

I'm 49 and I only got a few on the sides of my hips which now you can't see as they faded. You may not get any. I used Palmer's Cocoa butter on my stomach. My daughter-in-law is expecting the end of March and she is using the same thing. I got it at Wal-Mart. She has none yet. I think you would of seen them if you were going to get some by now. It also depends on how much weight you gain. The less the better. Good luck! Congratulations!! I think the baby is well insulated and won't notice a temperature change. You may want to ask the Dr. to be sure.

I didnt start to get my strecth marks until about 35 weeks I used all the lotions and none of them helped. I started using them when I first found out I was pregnant. My doctor told me it was just fate if you got them or not didnt matter your size, the lotions you used or anything just if you were going to get them you were going to get them. I still have them too. My stomach is flat as can be but I cant get rid of the marks no lotions or anything has helped. Also I took hot baths while I was pregnant it helped alot with the back aches and my doctor recommended it he just said no jacuzzis or anything because the raise your blood pressure. I trust his advice I had a very healthy 8lb 6oz baby girl.

I used Cocoa butter and did not get any stretch marks. I almost think you might be in the clear of getting them. Just to be safe get some cocoa butter. Its kind of greasy, but very moisturizing. About the bath, as long as your belly is not submerged in the water and your body temperature doen't raise over a degree or two than normal it might be ok. Just don't stay in long too long.

I didn't get any stretch marks.

Think you should stay out of the warm baths until the baby is born. My doctor told me, amongst other things; the bath is a source of infection. I was told to shower instead.
