This will be my first time teaching ESL overseas. Anyone have any advice? What sort of pay shoud I expect? What are common contract oversights?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Teaching English in Korea can be a wonderful or a terrible experience - or both. When I was American Citizens' Services officer at the US Embassy in Seoul, the largest numbers of calls we got were from American English teachers who were being cheated. Here is a general warning I wrote then, with links on the right side to other important topics, which is still on the embassy's web site. Please take it seriously:

try reaching out to someone in the same situation as you who is already in Korea teaching - maybe a colleague from school. Good luck!
