yes he is good, i have his greatest hits album from '93 and i still listen to it pretty regular.

I saw Tom Petty open up for Bob Dylan way back when at Madison Square Garden in NYC. For that concert, I had cheap blue seats upstairs in the 400 section. When Petty opened up, he rocked the house. Great Show. Then Dylan came on stage. Couldn't understand a single word he sang. Fortunate enough, I knew the songs.

He is awesome. One of the best. I grew up listening to his music...in fact "You Don't Know How It Feels" is on my computer under "Top 25 Most Played"....it is tied with "Moonlight Mile" by The Rolling Stones as number one.
I agree with you. He is great.
Edit: Tom Petty does sing "Life Is A Highway"....he sung it way before Rascal Flatts did. THey ruined the song, by the way.

Yes, I've liked him for a long time. Many years ago he used to tour Florida in a group called Mudcrutch.

I love love love him and always wished he was my dad! The thing I like so much is the timelessness-his old hits are as great as his new ones and not a single song has ever let me down.

I like some of his songs but I think he is pretty boring. My favorite is "Last Dance for Mary Jane".

excellent musician, into the great wide open, learning to fly etc. also his duet song stop dragging my heart around incredible song, you have good taste but the best band ever is RUSH!!!
