I'm referring to: "I guess James Brown DIDN'T feel good..." or "I heard Princes Diana was on the radio...and the dashboard...and the windshield..." or "Don't hit your head on the coffin lid, Mr. Ford." My own opinion: While it would certainly be disrespectful to say these things to their family members, actually humor can be healing in a situation like that. I recently buried an ex-husband, and we were cracking jokes all day at the funeral home, because he had such a sense of humor we knew he would appreciate it.

well when i make jokes like that, i usually get in trouble or get dirty looks... so i dont think it's appropriate.
