probably my mom, she taught me not to care so much about everything

My Mom definitely influenced me more on a verbal, day-to-day basis. To this day, I am still closer to her than my Dad for that very reason. But my Dad led more by example. I would give anything to be half the man he is today. Simply amazing, that man...

Socially, my mother. No question about that at all. She was a stay-at-home-mom til I was 15, and was very involved in enriching our lives without suffocating us, while my Dad was a workaholic that I barely knew until he went on disability leave in my teens.

Genetically, however, my father influenced me the most. From him, I got my diabetes, history of struggles with depression, and my ADHD. (At least two of which, he inherited from his own mother.) Even my little niece, who was born three months after her Grandpa died, has an uncanny connection to him in a number of personality traits, mannerisms, and facial gestures that many people have commented on, though she never met him. Strong gene pool!

My Mom, she taught me trust and communication-and to believe in myself when it came to making decisions--I was going out with an alcoholic boyfriend and she did not interfere because she told me later that she knew I would make the right choice on my own. And I did. I was still living at home at the time and just graduated from High School.

My Mummy, cause she was a stay at home Mum and although my Dad was in our lives (still is) he was a cop, so he was either at work or asleep so I never got alot of influence from him.

My Mom. She always had time to listen. My Dad worked a lot and he was more analytical and I didn't always get that. he read me the "funny papers" every Sunday though and taught me math I didn't get and how to do my own taxes. My Mom taught me that if you are nice to everyone even those you don't like that maybe, just maybe they will be nice back when they weren't before. she used to say, "Kill 'em with kindness". And it works!

My Dad. Of course you usually don't realize these things until you get...older. Then you can appreciate what your parents did when you were growing up. I know I do.
