If you are still on your menstrual cycle then I will advise that you don't douche with yogurt. Your menstrual cycle is supposed to be a self-cleansing mechanism. However, the odor occurs once the blood hits the air. So, if you are wearing pads make sure you change them often and wash with warm water and mild soap as much as you can...(the same if you are wearing a tampon). Because if you leave the pad or the tampon on too long it will start to "marinate" and cause a fowl odor. Just please avoid douching because it can altar your normal vaginal environment, and actually increase the risk of getting an infection (such as bacterial vaginosis), which also causes an odor.

Eating yogurt on a regular basis is a good way to stave off yeast infections. But my Dr. never told me to douche with it. In fact my Dr. adviced me never to douche at all. She explained that douching disturbs the pH of the vagina which in fact may cause or aggravate a yeast and/or bacterial infection. If your period, or any vaginal discharge, upon freshly exiting your body, smells, that is usually a sign of a problem or infection. Since you mentioned you are washing and changing often, then it sounds like this may be the case. You should not put anything in your vagina until you finish your period and have an opportunity to get checked out by a GYN. It sounds to me like you may be having a problem beyond the realm of a home remedy cure.

you may want to let your Doc. know about this, you could have an infection. No, washing w/ yogurt will not help. Try eating the yogurt instead.

Douching will help but don't use yogurt. You should probably shower twice a day, change your underwear as many times, shave your pubes so you don't trap the odor in them, and make sure you are changing your feminine hygiene products regularly.
