You have not defined any conditions so the answer in one word is YES. Minerals do not crack of its own but rocks do when exposed to hydration, freezing & thawing etc. Diamond like any other mineral if subjected to instant directional pressure would crack or develope fractures. Depending upon duration and intensity of pressure minerals suffer micro fractures (cracks) or break into smaller fragments. By application of pressure larger grains are broken into smaller grains for cutting and polishing as per commercial requirements. Presence of micro fractures is one of the attributes that determine price and beauty of diamond in market.

When diamond cutters work on a very large diamond they start by splitting it into smaller pieces which will then be shaped by grinding and polishing. The diamond is studied very carefully to determine the best line for the split. Then it is encased in some sort of material that hardens around it. The cutter uses a hammer and wedge to split the gem. If he gets it right it cracks along a single plane into two pieces. If not it might shatter into many small bits. So yes a diamond can crack.

The carbon in diamond is bonded very strongly to itself, but if enough force is applied it will break.

A diamond tipped saw probably won't break because the diamond is almost like sand. It's hard to imagine cracking sand.

Imagine what would happen if you could make a sheet of diamond shaped like paper. I would imagine someone with a sledgehammer and determination could crack that diamond.

Yes it can. A diamond is is rated as a 10 in the Moh's hardness scale. It is the hardest MINERAL on earth. That doesn't mean it is the hardest substance on earth. What the Moh's scale numbering basically means is this:
10- Diamond - no other mineral can scratch it, but it can scratch other minerals.
9 - Rubies and Sapphires (Corundums) - Can't scratch a diamond, but they can scratch other 9's (each other) and anything softer.
8 - Topaz - Can't scratch Corundums or Diamond, but can scratch another topaz or anything softer.
7 - Quartz - Cant scratch anything above a 7, but scan scratch other 7's or softer.

See where I am going with this?

OF COURSE, Example. When you hit a diamond with a big baseball bat and exerting very great force to that bat then it will break. All things can break most especially the diamond. The diamond is really very hard but when you hit it with something hard then it is very brittle just like a glass

it is very hard to crack a diamond because it is hardest substance known to man but it can be crack because it is used in earings rings etc and it can be melt also but it requires approx 7500 celucius
