One of my best friends won't talk to me. She and I have been close friends for the last 4 years, and we've been really close over the last year and a half.

Recently she had surgery, and I dropped by her place to see how she was doing. I made food for her, talked with her, made sure she was doing all right, talked with her parents. Her family invited me to stay to have dinner with them. She knows how much she means to me, and she's told me that I mean a lot to her, too. It seems like after I visited her, she hasn't wanted to talk. She doesn't reply to IMs, text messages, voicemails...I got her a Christmas gift. She wasn't home, so I left it with her brother to give to her.

It's been almost two weeks since we've seen each other or talked. It kills me inside when we don't talk or see each other.

Did I do something wrong? Is there something I can do?

she may have a small form of depression. this could be from the surgery depending apon what it was. just stick by her side and keep letting her know that you are there for her. she will come around...

She could be a bit taumatized by the surgery or something else. I had a good friend who I stopped talking to for a while, despite her numerous phone calls, just cuz I was really messed up over something else. It sounds mean and it is, but when your real messed up over something, sometimes you just want to keep to yourself and its ust too painful to socialize, especially when no one else seems to get whats up with you.

Well first of all, if she is/was taking pain killers for the surgery, that can make you act really spacey. If it's not that, then could it be that you are giving her too MUCH attention?

It seems to me that you did everything right! There is something unfolding here that she doesn't want you to know. Of course, I may be wrong because I don't know, but could it be her health is failing?
