Yep, went up a half size, never went back to what it was. That was only the first time though, they didn't get get bigger each pregnancy.
This doesn't seem to happen to everyone but sometimes adaptation to weight gain and loss, muscular imbalance and pregnancy can permanently change foot size. This is due to changes in the ligaments, tendons, and muscles within the foot, followed by subtle changes in the joints and spreading of the bones. The result is a normal enlargement of the foot which may be so gradual that sometimes it goes unnoticed.

Yes, my shoe size increased when I was pregnant. It was due to swelling (water retention) in my ankles and feet. It went away after the babies were born (twins). I now wear the same size shoe that I did before I was pregnant.

Its not that the bone grows, your feet get wider because you gain weigh. So they get fatter. Plus, all of the weight put on your feel all day makes your feet swell and seem bigger. Shee probably wears bigger shoes because bigger sizes are also wider. She should look for "wide width" shoes when pregnant.

Yes it can happen. Usually during the 3rd trimester. Mine went from 8 to 8.5 and never went back. It;s common but I don't think it happens to all women.

Increase, no not really, but while you are pregnant, you get edema in your feet, which make your shoes feel very tight.
