I think it's a slap in the face to African American actresses, who could have played the role of Daniel Pearl's widow just as well. What do you think about it?

I don't think they should have picked Angelina for the part either. I don't understand why she got the role, other than the fact that her boyfriend (the man that cheated on Jennifer Aniston with Angelina....) is co-owner of the production company that has rights to that movie.

You're right, it IS a slap in the face to the many qualified African American actresses out there!

Mariane Pearl was actually French and of Afro-Cuban and Dutch descent, not African American. Either way, though, Angelina Jolie probably wasn't the best casting choice, there are any number of talented actresses who look far more ethnic than she does. I wonder who she slept with to get the role...

I think she is lucky its even being made, it should be on lifetime not on the big screen. From what I understand she is not black, she is french - born and raised and so is Angelina. So what is the big fuss about. She isn't fair like Angelina but its just acting. So many roles get cast to people who may not be that race like for example JLo and Vin Diesel both played Italians and they are not even white. I think it matters more that an actor can play the part, I don't think they require a break down of your race or nationality to play the part.

Daniel Pearl's wife is of mixed heritage, why does that mean the role should automatically be cast to one race? Jolie is a good actress and a big box office draw. Pearl's widow is perfectly comfortable with the choice. Some mixed race actresses (Shari Belafonte for one) have said that they see nothing wrong with it.

? Monday became the nationwide MLK holiday. there have been forms of organizational conferences and flicks and despite happening and not something approximately Angelina Jolie. There would have been some Afrocentrists who have been dissatisfied yet maximum Afrocentrists are worried basically with Black human beings. some Black human beings experience that she would have had African blood. Her father's background became of course GREEK as she became a Ptolemy, yet there has been dissent over who her mom would have been (probably yet another Greek yet in line with risk an Egyptian Nubian or Cushite or in line with risk an Egyptian with another African blood..who knows?) that's the thinking of basically a small team of folk. enable me assure you that maximum Black human beings/communities, including the NOI, the NAACP, the Black Hebrew Israelites, different Black church homes and Greek-lettered companies, and so on. are actually not inquisitive approximately Cleopatra or Angelina Jolie. in case you do not have faith me, ask them. the human beings who make YouTube movies would desire to be all and sundry everywhere. specifically basically armchair social critics with a beef.

Daniel Pearl's wife is mixed, so she can kind of pull it off. How many mixed actresses can you think of? If you look at his wife she has African American features, but is very lightskinned.

I'm sorry to say that at present, there arn't very many good African American actresses available. Actors, yes, but not actresses.

Besides, actors should be chosen by their skills, not their color. The whole point of acting is to be what you're not. If Angelina can pull it off, then good for her!

anything that can draw the attention of the comatose American audience to an African American woman is a plus, I don't care if she's played by a polar bear just get the message out there!

It's all about money-she's big box office right now. It's as bad as when Tom Cruise was cast as Lestat the vampire.
