yes,
look at tiki barber and brandon jacobs (the beggining of the season) Tiki amassed all those yards but jacobs got a majority of the tds.
The best example is jacksonville, they had fred taylor and drew. When either of them went out either one was able to completely fulfill the job, and when they are both in they are saving their fatigue keeping them stronger through out the game.
Look at the broncos rushing game last year also. Tatum bell is not an every down back his best numbers come when he rushs for no more then 15 attepts a game. Mike Anderson would go in there and chip away at the D, then Tatum bell would come in and burn the exhausted d that had been pounded away by Anderson.
fatigue sets into any RB, and I am skeptical that LT will be able to carry the team all the way to the superbowl especially if they have to play the pats and the ravens. Though I hope he gets it done, because they deserve the superbowl rings, cept for the cheat known as merrimen

Until John Riggins the norm was a two back system. A guy like, say, Larry Czonka might have been called a full back but he carried much more often than, say, Mack Strong. Or do you mean like the Patriots now with Dillon and Maroney?

Of course it can, in fact I think if you can do it you're better off. Barber III and Jones in Dalllas, Bush and McAllister in Noleans, (last year) Parker and Bettis in the Burgh just to name a few. But what it all comes down to are the Big Pretties up front, they can make or break 99% of the backs out there. Big is Beautiful.

I would have to say yes. For example, you may have a running back with a lot of strength to him and then a running back with a lot of speed to him and the ability to move a lot quicker. Prime example, Warrick Dunn and T.J. Duckett(when Duckett was with the Falcons). Whenever you needed someone to push through the line, the coach would put Duckett in the game, and Dunn was the speed.

I'd say it does work if you know how to play-call and you have the correct personnel. The patriots (dillon and maroney), saints (mcallister and bush) and the broncos (mike and tatum bell) are three prominent examples, and other teams have begun to employ two running back systems as well.

yes. many teams have used the 2 back system for years. use your heavy bruiser to wear down the defense for the first half and then use your smaller speedster to outrun them in the second half while still using the big guy for short yardage and goal line opportunities.

i think both systems are workable in the pros. for example if you have one really good back (LT) then that works. If you have two mediocre backs (Dunn, Norwood) then that works. It all depends on who's on you team. Dunn + Norwood = Tomlinson? Maybe. Maybe not.
