No. They eat some funky stuff, but no dogs or cats. Go to Korea or China for that.

No way! Believe me, I'm Japanese, and I've never eaten dogs and cats before. I don't know why people think Japanese people eat babies, dogs, cats, etc. It's true that the Japanese killed whales (dolphins, I'm not sure), but that's suppose to be banned today. In the past, whales did provide food, except that it's endangered now, so it's banned today. If cows were becoming extinct and someone was eating beef, we would probably be acting in a way we react to people eating 'out-of-normal' animals. "Oh my gosh! You are eating a cow!"
Even if they might have done in the past, it's not only Japanese people! There are people all over the world who might have ate current domestic animals in the times of poverty if other foods were not available.
But you know what, at least you can think of it this way, if there are people in China, or other Asian countries that eats dogs and cats: they are not wasted! Today, the so called "fake fur" is actually dog/cat fur, where the animals are stripped alive, and their body is wasted, because the only reason they are killed, is for their fur. Also, the some animals like seals, are hunted for "enjoyment" in Canada, where they might not be completely dead, but injured, and left to die.

He looks like a handful, and appears like one of the most central hundreds of dogs on the Indian reservations...They are rough cookies. First and major, did this canines get a entire vet evaluate? I maybe hesitant to let him near kids within the occasion you didn't appreciate his history. There are lots of things that the kids can contract that puppies can carry - with out without signs, some life threatening. After that, i could query whether or not this canine belonged at your dwelling - even as kittens resemble rodents and lots of puppies have robust prey energy, most pups would have a bit of extra reserve. It moreover looks as if there is a bit an immoderate amount of freedom at your area for a canine that's so bold, and so damaging of concerns like water and gas lines. I could suppose that as young as your son is, it would be fgar better to alternate on this dog for a way more docile persona like a grown Labrador, one a good way to now not damage the children or harm the gas line - you might all be blown to pieces, or worse, by using the canine you have gotten. I'm definite he's candy, nevertheless Hogan sounds hazardous in plenty of approaches, and i'd highly advocate you are making the exchange to a more proper pet before anyone gets harm, because it seems there are numerous methods that might happen.

No that is not true. Well maybe SOME people who are a bit..."unique" might eat it, but we do not have cats and dogs in the market or anything similar to that like in some other parts of the world. BUT my grandmother did say that they tried to eat anything possible from dogs, rats, cats, and cicadas during WWII since there was so little food to eat.

Simple answer - no.
There are other Asian countries where they do to a limited degee (such as China and Korea), but these animals have never been used for food in Japan except in the most extreme famines. They are regarded as pets (and even honored in some Shinto shrines).

I don't know about Japan but they do eat dogs in China. I knew a girl from Poland who's dog was stolen to be eaten. It is kind of unnerving and it sounds weird to me but hey, they consider cows sacred in India! But either way, I don't eat meat.

They eat cats and dogs, goats, and a million other things you would never think of in America. Because in poorer countrys they dont have Mc'donalds and Burger King and fat people. Besides in the end once you get around the american taboo, meat is meat and when you have nothing else to eat well you gotta eat what you can. In some parts of Europe its the norm to eat guinnea pig, they ras them like cows and make soups and BBQ out them too. Poor people right here in america eat whats called Nurti-rat, its kind of like a beaver or a rat I guess. Watch dicovery chanel or the travel chanel sometime youll see.
