I like both. Sour cream on potatoes & Mexican food. Cottage cheese & fruit mixed is good too.

Depends upon the use. Cottage cheese on a peach and lettuce is a delight; with sour cream it would be a tad more sour. But to each his own with food and what tastes good. My dutch husband loves things that he learned to eat in Holland; I love my California foods. We agree to disagree, because most of the food tastes are acquired habits.
When on a diet, a new way of eating, cutting out some foods is wise. Sour cream can be used in the place of cottage cheese in many recipes. Again, it is a matter of taste.
