He should be hanged for his crimes. He was a mean and evil man and didn't care about anybody. He is too much like Hitler was. Alot of people will probably be glad when he is gone. We're not supposed to judge other people but sometimes it's hard not to.

that's greater of a political than a armed forces question yet we could seem at some implications the two way. think of approximately it heavily and assume somewhat. he's hanged for his crimes against the folk in his united states. The Sunni's, are actually not satisfied, and increase their assaults against the Shia's, and US troops. Now, all of us understand that Iran has been sending human beings to help the two sect, and bump up their help and workers to apply the timing of that remarkable, and a US congress led by utilising democrats. the assumption is they are able to tension congress in the time of the media into an early withdrawal. that's precisely what Iran needs. and that they decide on this for numerous motives. yet maximum critically, is the certainty that upon an early withdrawal, Iraq may well be VERY vulnerable to take over by utilising Iran and its best chum in Syria, or a minimum of an tried one. Which motives Kuwait and Saudi Arabia diverse indigestion, no longer point out Israel. the two way, it motives a great instability interior the area, so great in certainty, that it would a detrimental mistake to enable issues get too out of hand, or go away. issues are seldom suited in united states construction, and it takes time, however the implications for no longer taking the duty whilst we are there are way too great. help the Troops, they are doing the activity that no person else needs, propogated by utilising diverse failed policies, and a loss of UN intervention.

I have to say regrettably, yes. I don't wish that on anybody, but until we take responsibilty for what we do, some of us won't change or even try to treat other people right. My only other regret is that he wasn't hung as soon as possible after the crimes were committed. Waiting a long time to put someone to death seems cruel, in it's own way.
Okay, I also think we could find more humane ways of using the death penalty than hanging, as well.

Nope, for two reasons. The death penalty is wrong for all sorts of reasons, even when applied to a mass murderer like Saddam. Secondly, there's an International Criminal Court in the Netherlands. Saddam should hae been brought before it and if found guilty as charged, jailed for life. The reason America chose to give him a kangaroo trial instead was to prevent embarrassing evidence being aired. America propped up his regime and supplied him with weapons for as long as it suited them. Remember his war with Iran in the 1980s? Similarly America created the Taliban, trained them and supported Osama bin Laden in the 1980s when they were fighting the Russians. Remember all those Rambo movies set in Afghanistan? With hindsight, even a Soviet puppet regime was better than the present government there. The only good hanging Saddam will do is to give satisfaction to some of his victims. But it's got nothing to do with justice. Plenty of other dictators in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America are as bad as him. Many of them are supported by America.

As it was the U.S A that declared war on Iraq after earlier giving them weapons and training their personal.
It may have been more relevant to post the Q to America.
It was America who demanded he be hunted down and brought to justice.
He rightfully deserved it and the outcome..
Australia supported him originally by giving wheat sanctions.
I am Australian but it wasn't in the Australian section either.
What on Earth has Egypt to do with Saddam H.
Not that I condone or support any form of tyranny.
Even that of George W.Bush who has now taken the title of Worlds Greatest Tyrant.from him.
I only added my "bit" as I totally support phantoms answer and deserves the points.

No, hanging Saddam would show that we're no better than he is. I imagine the insurgency would get worse if they go through with the execution.

I'm against death penalty from the start....
But there are exceptions & I think he's one of them....
He did horrible things to that poor nation....
He destroyed many families & lives that could make a change....
But also, I think he kept a ONE Iraq...
Not this devided Iraq we see now on TV....
For me, I think there are many other more painful things than death that he should go through....
Let's say appologise in person to every victim's family....
He is insane & sadistic....
Hope That we never see anothe Dectator here in our nations soon...

I think he should be executed for the crimes of innocent civilians.
But....
what makes this case unique is that the people who oppose his execution do not oppose his death. They just think it should be made by the Arab countries and not by a Western backed trial.
In my opinion its better for the countries in the middle east to be backing the trial not a foreign countries for the benefit of all sides.
But what difference does it make?
