You can't, but you can be charged for any arrearages before your right were terminated! The termination is only from the date approved, not retroactive to a child's birth unless an adoption! Usually it is the state that goes after you!

The above cite is not correct for termination. It may be for support prior to the termination as the laws in Texas do not dismiss prior orders of support!!

Termination means that legally you are not the father, however, in Texas they have laws which would give the child a claim on your assets at your death!

Texas is one of the very few states that will allow a parent to voluntarily terminate their parental rights, but can (and often does) still order them to pay child support.

Go over this slowly. Rights are rights. Obligations are obligations. If you have a child, you have an obligation to care for him. If you can't be trusted with the child, so be it, but your obligation persists.
I wonder if that egocentric attitude is part of the problem that terminated your parental rights. Think about it.

unless the rights were terminated due to someone adopting the child ( step parent) the only rights that were terminated esp ifyou asked for them to be, is your rights to have any say, not your obligation to pay child support.

Those are not rights, but obligations and are only given away if and when a step parent will adopt the child

People keep talking about obligations as if it's forced on fathers to look after their kids!

Fathers do want to love and support their kids, but not at the extortionate rates the government sets.

Because you had a kid and somehow a judge thinks your not in a good place. You still have to pay for your kid, but you need to take a breather from whatever you doing that makes the judge not like you.
