I'm aware that I can buy cards that have s video adapters. The problem is that my wifes computer doesn't have an AGP slot, and instead of getting an old pci card is there a USB adapter or something?

Many new LCD TVs have the capacity built right in.

Better to spend money on a new TV than adapters.

The data rate is too high to send video down USB so you won't find a USB solution. You need a scan converter. These are expensive and not very good. PCI is not completely dead so you should be able to find a graphics card with video out.

I'd buy a new computer with video out OR get a TV that can also show VGA.

An old pci card? They have new pci cards that will allow you to view on tv. Your best bet is to just buy one of those. Check out tigerdirect or pcclub. Also at besybuy.

What you are looking for is called a VGA to TV converter as seen here: http://images.google.com/images?q=VGA%20to%20TV%20Converter&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&sa=N&tab=wi
The yellow plug would connect to your TV If your TV doesn't have RCA inputs then you would connect it to a VCR and then the VCR to the TV as usual

As far as where to buy one. You got me
I would try radio shack first then eBay
