I know that sometimes marriage is a love / hate relationship. I'm curious to know how often you feel as if you despise your spouse? And what type of things bring on those feelings.

Just for the record... I didn't say that I personally have a love/hate relationship with MY spouse. I asked about YOUR relationship with YOUR spouse. I am happy to see so many that do not think it is love/hate. I suppose a lot depends on the baggage each spouse brings with them into the marriage.

I don't despise him, but I do despise some things he does.

Don't get me wrong. I love my Hubby, but when he is a pr*ck or disrespects me, that's when I feel like that. Having a whole week off after Xmas, No driving the kids to school and his alarm goes off at 7:15 for 3 days in a row. (He has to be to work at 11:00am) I had 4 days off and not being able to sleep in. I despised that, big time. Or when he tells me no. Don't like that either. Or when he doesn't pull his weight around the house. But the best part of despising him is the makeup sex! Awesome.

I'm married for 12 years. Yes, you sometimes fight with each other, but you reach a point where you decide this is all a game. you can enjoy some arguments but you can decide this is forever, and despise is not on the table anymore. You want love and the other side wants that too. You can have that for the rest fo your life together. Really...
BTW, you might want to look at landmark education "FORUM" courses, just as a gift to your life...

Oh my god, I should be the queen. Here are a few reasons as to why I despise my spouse:

Honey I'm playing the game can't take the trash out.

U said that I half as$ wash the dishes so thats why I don't wash them.

Too tired to have sex (LOL)

I am going to fix that 2morrow (which never happens)

Usually right before the divorce. As soon as you start looking at your spouse as the enemy, you stop trying to fix and start trying to destroy.

No, marriage is not a love/hate thing. It's a love/love thing. You have to choose to love if you want to stay together. Even if they're sometimes "unloveable."

Yes, it takes a lot of work.
