I have been asking alot of these questions on the answers herew and all ikeep seeing is my wife is cheating, my husband is cheating, this is pathetic I know that we have better things to do then express or personal lives all over the net. I do believe these people must start asking the spouses these questions or atleast a lawyer? Come on people if you know you cannot be faithful to one person for life stop waisting the churchs time and stay single because all you are doing is destroying peoples feelings, lives and the lives of your children.

It is generally known that the United States has the highest divorce rate in the world.
Now is this because you have alot of unhappy people for sure that could be an easy answer. You have unfaithful partners,
you have controlling idiots both men and women that need to get there own way all the time. I do know that alot of people are acting on these talk shows but really if life is so good in the states why is it also the country with the highest crime rate. I'm not saying all people in the states cheat and abuse I'm just wondering why people think it is necessary to air there crap on the net
rather then just confronting the other person or seeking some professional help.
I'm from Canada and I'm not saying cheating does not happen here it happens everywhere. I just think most people would think it wrong to ask these questions from complete strangers.

I agree with you, or is it the very culture of america where it's so open to talk about these matters? It exists everywhere, only some places are more discreet ie where you're from. It's a shame. Cheating is a cowards way out. People that cheat are weak and cheat themselves of a future. Hope that answers your question.

True... if someone knows they are going to cheat they shouldn't get married... but i want to address the "people in the states" thing you said.
My brother inlaw drives a long haul truck for a living from W.Ky to Canada and some chic from Can. was like stalking him and following him back to Ky and all. She was married and he wasn't. So to direct your question to a certain locality of people having no morals, you wrong there... it's every where... YA is a world wide source the groups people by the language they speak. So just because they are speaking english doesn't mean they are from the states... Dude!!!

NO believe me it's not only people in the States. I'm from Australia and there's a hell of a lot happening here as well. I'm with you 100% though and l wish like you that if people can't be faithful, they wouldn't get married. It is the most humiliating, hurtful thing you can do to someone you are supposed to love. I know first hand all about that.

NO, not all of us cheat or condone it by any stretch of the imagination.
As far as the abuse. Well, much of what is called abuse is nothing of the sort. In America, if someone hits you and you hit them back, they somehow think it abuse. If you say or do or think something that the other person doesnt like, agree with or which doesnt help them get their way, it is termed abuse. If someone is told or shown to be wrong, it is abuse. Making someone have to face the truth about themself is abuse.
Americans have turned into a lot of whiny little politically correct liberal losers.

So, I guess you think that Yahoo Answers accurately represents marriage in America? Give me a break.
Does Auntie Em have to speak for the millions of happily married Americans who are faithful and leading decent and normal lives?
OK. I'm 48, married for 25 years to a decent hard working man who doesn't abuse me doesn't slack, doesn't cheat and we have a normal 23 year old son who has a job and doesn't beat his girl friend.
Just because a few troubled people air their problems on here doesn't mean that it represents who Americans are. Most of us aren't on here at all. I happen to be one of the bored ones, one of the few and one of the happy ones, actually.

The people who are happy and in a stable relationship don't post or ask questions like the ones you see. Therefore your opinion is skewed based on sampling.
People cheat just as much in the States as other countries. We just vocalize it more because we are extroverts, in general.

I love my husband more then anything in this entire world. I'd do anything for him. I would take my own life before I ripped his heart out by cheating on him and I'm not about to do either. There is still love and faithfulness in American, but it isn't a hot topic to discuss. People always seek answers to something negative in their life.
BTW, we've been together 15 years.
