She hasn't said it yet but I just want to be prepared just in case she ever does say it.

I graduated in '95 so she's fat and ugly now, pretty funny!

Say "Hi" back politely, but say it in a tone of voice and give her a look at the same time that says "Why the hell are you talking to me? I don't mind talking to you but if you do something mean to me I will burn the hair off your head and end your existence as you know it." Then smile back and wait for something else to be said. Maybe say sorry and give a well thought of excuse for your meaness if by then you decide she's not doing something fishy.

Um, I'd say hi back. Or turn around to see who was behind me that she was probably talking to. I am going back, BACK in time to when I was in school and a popular boy said hi to me. From experience, you know. I think you should go for it and say hi first! Maybe SHE is waiting for that!

Well, in my case if the most popular guy says hi to me I would say "Hi" back, that's it.

Say, "hi," back.

Smile.

Hey, guess what? "Hi!"

I was like SO FAR from the most popular girl in school, but you can practice on me, OK?

I would smile and say Hi back but always be on my toes. Popular girls are usually snobby backstabbers.

Rather you're a male or female, just say hi back.

I'd give a quick acknowledgement of "hello" (politely) and then wait to see if she goes further with it.
