Mine did this but it had a weird list in a weird font. I guess it wasnt actually frozen because I could still scroll. I went down to reset and it started working fine again.

slide HOLD switch to HOLD and back again. Then press the MENU and CENTER buttons at the same time until the apple logo appers

flip the on/ off or reset switch at the top 5 times and then it should work.

Try taking the battery out and leave it ot for 5 sec. then put it back in again.
