are you referring to Pacabels Canon in D? that is a very popular classical piece and i ahev heard it done by guitar as well

Hmm, I'm not exactly too sure. If the music is classical along with electric guitars, it could be the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They usually do stuff like that. Try searching around them and see what comes up.
