go to the router setup page, should be an ip address like 192.168.x.x. log into the router page with the initial username and pw located in the manual. now go to the security page or something similar and make sure WPA is enabled. After that you will need to name your network and enter an encryption key, then just save your settings and your network will be secure.

I just installed a Linksys wireless router. I made my network secure, but the instructions may be different for different models. I can help you if I know your model number? My router model number is WRT54G, what is yours?

You have to look in the user guide on the CD that came with the device.
