I read the book and was excited about seeing the movie, but after it was over, i was really upset with it. It skipped over so many details, it wasn't even funny...The book is really good, the movie on the other hand, no way. Don't waste your money on watching it.

The Eragon book is a really good and enjoyable book, I love it. But when I went to see the movie I was really excited, I thought I was about to see a really good movie but when I was walking out of the cinema after seeing the movie, I felt like screaming and yelling, the movie is soooo bad, it really is, especially if you have read the book.

I remember that some of the Harry Potter fans were upset last year when the Goblet of Fire movie was released because it left so much information from the book out. I now think that compared to the Eragon movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was ok.
I really don't understand how the people who made the movie could leave so much out and still think that people will like it!
The first Eragon book is four times the size of the first Harry Potter book but the first HP movie was nearly 3 hours long whereas the first Eragon movie goes for 1 hour and 53 minutes.
I was really disappointed with the Eragon movie and me and my friend actually thought seriously about making it again with like puppets and miniature sets and knew that our version would be much better then the actual movie.
The Eragon movie is a real embarrassment to the quality of the book.

The movie is not better than the book, but it has it's own aspects that makes it really good. I've seen it twice and even though there was so much more they could have done with the movie based on what they had to work with, I still thought it did the book some justice.

The general rule applies here: if possible, see the movie first, the book is sure to be better.

My daughter says that if you had not read the book, it would be a GREAT movie. But, of course, the book is WAY better than the movie. I'll wait to see it on DVD. (The book was great.)

No. While the movie is definately a visual pleaser...thats about it. The kid they got to play Eragon...I don't know what they were thinking when they hired him. Books are better.

The movie failed horribly when compared to the book. They ruined the plot, many many details were wrong (Arya was a blonde in the movie, and she had black hair in the book and she was supposed to be wearing black; she is an elf and she didnt have elf ears; the gedwey ignasia was supposed to be a silver oval-like symbol, not a swirly scar)

Book > movie
simple as that

No, from multiple standpoints the book is much better than the movie. Though the movie is good, it can never compare. I hope you read the book before you watch the movie, trust me you'll feel much better!

I haven't read the book, but I took my daughter to see the movie yesterday and it stunk up until the last 10 minutes (she thought so too). I would say wait for the DVD.
