Here's some info about cables

I am pretty sure you need an A/B cable.
'A' connector at one end and 'B' at the other.

i have 1 of those printers, u just need a USB A to B cable. There is an end that is kinda square (B) that goes into the printer, and the other end is the regular 1 kinda like a rectangle (A) which goes into the computer. U can get them from most computer or electrical stores.

Most likely, you need a USB-B to USB-A cable. I think all USB printers use this kind of cable. The USB-B connector looks like a square with 2 chopped off corners. It plugs into the printer. The USB-A connector is the common flat type and plugs into the computer.

Most printers require a USB-A to USB-B cable. The one side is thin and narrow and the other side is more square-ish but rounded at the top.

Annoying, ain't it, this tendency not to provide the cable with the equipment?
You just need what is known as an A/B cable - any computer store.
