You're going to laugh at this one, but it is serious. My upstairs neighbor's bedroom is directly above mine. His bed CREAKS very loudly. It wakes me up every time he turns over in bed. Thank God he dosn't have a girlfriend! I've asked him to fix it and the noise stopped for awhile, but is back again. There is NO WAY that he can't hear it. Any suggestions? can I call the police for a squeeky bed?

The only things you can do are either move, or ask your landlord if there's another apartment you can take. If you're lucky, you're nice about it and haven't damaged the unit you're in, he might let you swap without paying an additional deposit.

Sorry, and good luck!

You can do a few things:
1. get some insulative ceiling tiles for your bedroom (if that's possible - are you renting?)
2. Talk to the neighbor and let him know this is still a big problem for you. If he puts a rug under his bed (between the bed legs and the floor), this should diminish the noise.

It is probably easier to insulate the noise from above than below. If your neighbor is friendly, he may be willing to use the rug remedy.

i know exactly what you're talking about, but the upstairs neighbors I could hear were across the hall. There are steps inbetween the two sides of the apartment and my fiance and I could hear them walking up and down the steps, going into their apartment and everything they did in the apartment and they weren't even above us. we asked nicely quite a few times, and they decided to make it a game to see which one of them (her or her daughter) could annoy us the most and how long it would take for us to say something to them again. finally, after the 3rd time talking to them, we called the police and since they weren't above us they didn't do anything, but our neighbors across from us called and complained and they gave them a warning. they kept going and it got even louder, to the point where we were waking up 3 and 4 in the morning knocking on there door and telling them to shut the hell up. finally we started calling our landlord and she would call and talk to them and ask them to be quite. (our apartment only has 4 apartments in it so it's not that big and you can hear everything) they kept going and would actually thru stuff down the stairs and run as hard they could and stomp on purpose...finally out landlord got tired of us and our neighbors calling that she gave them a 30 day eviction notice and kicked them out. this went on for 3 months, before our land lord did anything about it. it drove me crazy...i'm pregnant as it is and the extra noise killed me!!

it's sad that it came to that, but if it annoys you to the point that you know they are doing it on purpose, it's there fault and you shouldn't feel any mercy for them. you have to live there just as much as they do and I'm sure they wouldnt like it if you did the same thing when you asked them nicely to do something about it.

hope that helped...if not a little humor:):)

no, i wouldn't call the police over it. but, you have heard the old saying one good turn deserves another.
call him on the phone and wake him up and "mention" that his bed woke you up.
i had a neighbor with a loud bed and a loud girlfriend. his bed was right over my daughters bed she was about 5 or 6 at the time. she would come in screaming that there were monsters in her closet. we let her sleep with us until one night i went to show her because i was tired and didn't want a kid in bed with me. well the monster turned out to be an amorous neighbor.
i told him his bed and his girlfriend were terrorizing my daughter and that perhaps he should move his bed.
he did and all was well.......

Talk to him about it again or leave a note on his door every morning, maybe he'll get the hint. Maybe keep a broom next to your bed and every time he wakes you up, knock on the ceiling with the stick and wake him up so he knows how disturbing it really is. Otherwise, if it's a rental, tell your landlord. Sleep tight!!
