It is all for an essay I am writing and english isn't my first language.
I do not wish to bother you with details. But I have to write about raising or breeding pigs. I would like to know what are the different names of a pig ? ( i mean the name of the male pig/female pig/young pigs/suckling pigs..etc.)The name of the p;lace they are kept in a farm. is it right to use the term "raising" or "breeding" or is there a more apropriate term? And finaly does anybody know anything about keeping pigs, any terms or knoweledge that would make my writing sound realistic ? Or maybe a web site from which i might get such information.
Thank you for your help .

Maybe in the north you call them boars, but in the south a male pig is a "hog." Female is a "sow," baby is a "piglet." They're kept in a "pigpen."

A 'piggery' is the name for the establishment, 'pig-sties'/'pig pens' will be part of it.

"Boar" = male.
"sow" = female
"Piglet' = 'baby'.
