He is sentenced to die with in hours. If he dies where are we in the USA ? He deserves death but I dont think or I know this isnt the answer. THings will just go on and on and on. What is the stop off point to this situation? Our soldiers are being killed for WHAT purpose? Why cant we solve this? I know its all political and wondering for what purpose? This just sickens me that no one has the balls to do something. What is you take on this.?

He deserves to die, he deserves to do it this way. But our troops will be stuck in the middle of an increasing full blown civil war. This insurgency was never about Saddam or the Baathi'st party. That is a part of it. It is mainly about religious feuds Shiite and Sunni that go back 1,500 years. And minor religious minorities like Christians in Iraq. It is about the fact they want us to leave and let them settle it their way. And then we get stuck with another Saddam from one side or the other. No matter what we do. Time to cut our loss and get out . Focus on Afastigian.

I don't need closure. But then, my family wasn't brutally tortured and then slaughtered by this man. His jurors are his own people.

Another factor to consider is how volatile that country is. They've got him contained right now. Evidence of Hussein's mass murder campaigns keeps turning up (filled mass graves). Suppose they relent and give the guy "life" instead of the death penalty. Then it will only be a matter of time before one of his loyalists springs him from prison and the people of that country will live in terror again.

Unfortunately, for the people of that country, I think execution is the only way to secure their safety... at least from Hussein, himself.

It will bring closure to the people who suffered under his rule, but that's about it. The violence will continue because at this point the war has nothing to do with Saddam Hussein.

I don't think anything will be accomplished by having a public hanging i think he should be put in a plane and blown out of the sky but then again i think he should be let go in a crowd of people who's kin people he has killed and let them have their way and then again i want to know where is Osama Bin Laden in all the whole world u know there is someone who knows where he is he is the one that should be put in a plane and blown to bits

this will not solve anything. it will only cause more riots and more deaths of our troops. i hate saddam and he deserves to die, but do we as the american public really know if they caught the right guy? it was a fact all through the persian gulf war and later that saddam had body doubles, some who even had plastic surgery to look like him. this man's execution will not bring any type of closure to the american people, and maybe none to those whose lives saddam actually adversely affected.

It's just going to open up a new can of worms. You think the death rate is bad now? People are going to die at an exponential rate.
