I was cleaning the house and my five year old daughter was sitting on the couch with a book,She asked me how do you make a wish to god? I replied you just ask him for what you want if it's the best thing for you . So curiously I then asked what is it she wanted thinking it was a toy or something to which she replied "I want to ask God to make me read so I can read books by myself". It's that so innocent how we take reading as such a nothing and to a small child just learning it's a big event?
God Bless you all with a very happy New Year and all the years after.

When my son was very small he had just the opposite reaction to reading. He didn't want to learn to read. He was afraid that if learned to read for himself I wouldn't read him bed time stories anymore.

It's always wonderful when kids actually want to read and learn. I love reading books to my little cousin and I love it more when he reads to me!
