I did my nephew's last year by putting it into boilng water for about fifteen minutes then, ( wearing gloves) slowly bent it and repeated this until the right angle for him was met. By doing this you aren't applying dry heat whichif used weakens the plastic, this way is moist heat which allows for more pliability.

Take a heat gun (not a blow torch; it's different) and gently move the heat around the part(s) of the blade you want to bend. After about 15-20 seconds, the plastic should soften and become pliable. Bend it to the way you want it and let it cool. Warning: the more times you heat and bend it, the weaker the plastic becomes and the easier it will break.

Cook it up over the stove or with a torch, just like the old mini stick days.
