I had my first daughter at 37 weeks and she was in NICU for an entire week because she wasn't breathing well at birth and had a lot of fluid in her lungs. She was on a respirator for the first day of her life and then from there she was on oxygen for several days to help her breathe. Now that I am 33 weeks pregnant with my second, I am afraid that she will go through the same thing?

Just remember every baby is different, no two are alike. There is no point is stressing over something you can not control. Best of luck to you!

Thats ok. My sister was in NICU for the first couple weeks of her life but I was not. And I was born earlyer than her. And NICU is there to help your child. So dont feel bad if you have a child that needs to be in NICU.

All babies are different. It's natural to worry, but the odds are good that it won't happen again.

Don't worry unless there's a reason to worry. Remember that worry is contagious. It's all pheromones, after all, and those travel up the umbilical just like all of those good vitamins and nutrients do. So relax as much as you can. Just keep thinking: everything is OK.

Congratulations, and good luck--

Don't assume anything!! Every birth is completely unique and you should not stress yourself out at this time -- that could cause more harm!

Snuggle up with your daughter, drink some Chamomile tea, read her a story, just try to hang in there and do not think about this anymore.

I know this is easy for me to say since I'm not the one in your situation, but try not to get too wound up about it. The added stress can't possibly be good for your baby. Remember that all the worry in the world isn't going to change anything. Good luck to you.

Please don't be! I'm also thinking about having another baby. Mine is 8 months now. She had a horror delivery and I'm still living in fear every day something might happen to her.
This sucks.
Your new baby will most likely be super fine. Enjoy it!
