Hey WidowMaker
I agree with every word you said. Ive been on this site for 3 months now and Im trying to truely assist people on how to heal any illness or disease they have. Most of the time they close the door because they truely dont understand (or have been brainwashed by doctors, society, media). But I have done good for some and that is what keeps me coming back.
The FDA, AMA, Politicians, ect must have props for fooling most of society in the biggest marketing scam of all time! Drugs dont cure anything! They are good for an emergency operation, tooth work, and a few others I cant think of, but that sums it up.
Nature cures and there are hundreds of healing methods around the globe, but we are in the money making business here in the US. That is why people like us have to keep educating people to look at other options. Here is famous healer from the 1800's. Anyone with doubts read about him or many many others (several even today).
"The famous herbalist Samuel Thompson used two herbs mainly, cayenne & lobelia. And with those two herbs, it is estimated he helped 3.5 million people recover from their illnesses."--Dick Shulze, N.D. M.H.
"Educating yourself on self healing is the greatest freedom we have, I just can explain it"
Best of health to all
Thanks for letting me express myself as well (widowmaker).

Good point. There is chlorine in tap water, and that can do some serious damage to the prostate gland. Its not the "use" of medicaments that are dangerous, it is the "ABUSE" of them that becomes dangerous. As long as you have what is referred to as "pharmaceutical grade" herbs you should get a proper dose. You should discuss taking any herbs with your doctor if you are taking any prescription medications because they can interact with them. An excellent book on herbal medicines is the Physician's Desk Reference Guide to Herbal Medicines. I'm not sure if that is the exact title, but its close. When used properly, herbs are extremely useful in helping with a person's health. Be wise about their use, pay attention to any news on them, and if you are taking any prescription drugs be sure they will have no harmful effects if they interact with the prescriptions. To the poster above that says that there are herbs that can cure all illnesses, sorry, but that is not true. There is no herb that will repair a severed spinal column, there are no herbs that can treat astroglioma, etc. Herbs can help a great deal, but to say that can heal "anything" is false. I do not work for a drug company, and I do not own stock in any - I just know that if you are going to make statements like that you need to go to medical school to back it up. If I was an actual physician I would definitely recommend certain foods and herbs to certain patients as it would be part of the healing process. St. John's Wort was believed to help in depression but the studies in now say that it may be harmful for that, but have benefits for other illnesses. Keep your eyes on the news - knowledge changes over time, and the drug companies don't control that (although sometimes they might try to!).

Well, unfortunately, we can blame the media for most of that. Not to mention the FDA that's tried and tried many times to get herbs outlawed so that the damned drug companies have no competition.
Any good herbalist will tell you that you start with a good book that lists not just the Do's, but the Don'ts and warnings. Most people don't have enough common sense to grasp that one.
I've been using herbal medications safely since the later 1980's, when regular medication quite helping. The trick most people forget is to do the research. Many take what they see in writing by the media as the blessed truth. Usually, it's only half truth..if any at all. Fear drives the lot of them.
Another thing many do not know is that many of our medications today are a deriviative of an herbal substance.

Because that's all they know. They don't know how they work and their doc prob. only uses traditional meds. The one I go to offers traditional medicine with complementary & alternative medicine. Both homeopathic and regular meds. . Have learned to be more informed about meds & natural medicines. Have used many homeopathic meds and...they were recommended by my doctor. Think if more was taught in school about herbal medicines they would be more readily accepted. Not exposed to them myself until university. Even found out there was a herbal drug reference in addition the 'regular' physicians desk reference.
Where do they think mainstream meds come from anyway? They all start out as herbal. ex..aspirin. In fact, it was from salicylic acid, one of the ingredients in willow bark, that aspirin was originally synthesized.

The FDA has systematically approved medication over the past 20 years which has NOT been properly tested. Donald Misfield the former Sec. of defense for Bush was the sole person with the distinction of approving the drugs and giving the OK for public consumption. So as for me, I opt for non approved methods/herbs/homeopaths, and ideas outside the FDA approval list in most cases.

There are three types of herbs; medicinal, culinary & toxic.
All three have their place in society IF the individual knows what they have & how to use it properly.
I agree with you whole-heartedly.
