Sorry, I dont think that is possible. Alot of people I know tried to do that, but there is no possible way to do that, at least what most of us know of.

I think this'll work:
Can your friend email the iTune songs as an attachment to you? When you get the attachment, add them to your Music folder in your computer, then do an import (or is it export?) from the iTunes desktop which will give you a choice of folders you have already. Look for the music folder, and then choose those. iTunes "should" place these in your main library. I had to do this before as I don't have my own iTunes at home just yet. I have an account at work.. Good luck.

Get your friend to burn a cd with all the songs you want, then put the cd into your computer and import the songs into itunes. Then you can put the songs on your ipod and have them in your library as well. I suggest you get limewire so you can download music to put on your ipod for free.

I saw some software at Wal-Mart for $10 to help you transfer songs from your iPod to your PC, but I don't think it is possible to do so otherwise.
This is probably becuase in order for iTunes to be able to hold a song it needs to have a "source file", meaning the mp3 of the song needs to be kept on your computer.
My suggestion is that you ask your friend to email the mp3 or wma files of the songs to you. Yahoo! mail can be used to send music, but usually only one song at a time.

You're not supposed to be able to do it, but if you use the iPod as a disk and put the files in the hard-drive of your iPod, you can place the files onto your computer's iTunes folder.
Also, burn them to CD and rip them to iTunes. That's another option.

itunes doesn't allow you to do it because its a way to steal music, but you can download a program that will do it for you. just go to a downloading site and find a program. I have a program that does it but im not on my computer, so i know its possible

Did you in basic terms purchase it and this is the 1st time you became it on? if that is so then plug the you ipod in on your laptop with the cable featuring the iPod and open iTunes and set up your iPod on your laptop.
