With the price of color printers now why would you want a black and white? You never know when you might want to print something with some color and there is all kinds of printers for under $100. That do a fine job. Yes you can hook up more than 1 computer to your printer.

You can buy a new inexpensive color inkjet printer for about $30. Color inkjet printers can also print in black and white. The printer driver usually has a configuration setting for this. Printer companies make their money by selling you replacement ink cartridges that cost upwards of $20 each.

Multiple computers can share a single printer in several ways. You can just plug the printer into the computer that needs it.
There are printer sharing devices that connect to the printer and to each computer that wants to use it.

You need to define what quality of print you want, if you want inkjet, laser etc. It is tantamount to asking "How much does of a car cost, also how much does a truck cost, a small one"
I'll go with what I know. Inkjets are your best bet. A printer even worth purchasing would cost around 100 dollars US. I would no recommend a cheaper one than this, otherwise you know the saying "You get what you pay for" will come true. A small color one, well in this case you are in luck because the injet that I bought prints in BOTH black and in color. Unless you are referring to a printer that is both black and white in color, to which i would have to respond that I haven't yet seen one. Yes you can connect two computers to one printer, you would have to buy a switch which shouldn't be too expensive, or you could go high tech and get a wireless printer server / router of course it would cost more.

Depending on what you are looking for, you could pay big dollars out for a more expensive Lazar printer and have it be more effective or you can buy a re-built Lexmark and pay minimum for it but more for the ink cartridges.
