Have an all weekend party - have sensible amounts of alcohol so nobody puking up or passing out. Drink plenty of water and black coffee - get takeaways to feed the masses and when I said sensible, I meant enough to enjoy it, but not having terrible hangovers.

Saturday is only the 30th of December.

The best time to celebrate is on Sunday Night. New Year's Eve - 31st of December. Saturday will just an ordinary party.

If you really want to revel in the New Year's Eve spirit, have it Sunday night; other than that, if your guests are real party people, they probably started to party Friday night since it's a 3 day weekend for a lot of people.

It depends, really. Do you want alot of people going? By now I reckon alot have people have already decided where they're going for new year's. I think you should have it on saturday if you want alot of people to go and sunday if you want it to be a proper new year's party :).

I'd have it on Sunday night because that's NYE. Most people don't have to go to work on Monday anyway so it's still going to feel like a weekend night.
