I made a mistake by sending a regular letter in the express mail box and I hope they send it by regular mail and not discard it in the trash

Yes it will be sorted into the regular mail and delivered normally with no delays.

The post office will notice that it does not have proper postage for express mail and they will place it with regular first class mail. They will not return it to you unless there is no postage on it at all.

I had a postal worker tell me once that when this happens, what they do is sort it out of the Express Mail pile, throw it into another bin, and somebody gets around to processing it within a day or two.

It'll get where you need it to go. No problem.

yes it will get delivered i accidently put a package with a UPS label and it got delivered, rest assured your letter will get to its proper destination!

It will either be returned for not enough postage or it will lose a day in processing. They will not throw it away.

no, their policy is to mark it and return your letter to you, then put the right postage on it next time, sucka....
