Hi Erica...I'm also a city of Seattle resident and have been a resident of Washington state for nearly my long lifetime. Seattle has unique charms of old and new and quite a diversity of people of different cultures which are blended unlike many other larger cities which feel segregated. The city is smaller than most cosmopolitan cities, but it has much to offer new residents and visitors alike (wow--that sounded commercial-like). The Pacific NW is a very cultural city for the arts, music and we were listed as one of the most educated cities in the nation http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/Departments/elearning/?article=EducatedCities . We love the outdoor lifestyle -- bike, hike, mountain climb, boating, water-skiing...just about every sport imaginable despite the inclement weather as we are surrounded by both mountains (Olympic Mtns & Cascades) and water (Puget Sound-Salt water and Lake Washington-fresh water) on both sides in Seattle. There's so much to share about Seattle and the surrounding towns that it would take a novel to share with you.
