What kind of underwear is less important than having as much hair as possible down there to aid in air circulation. Don't wax, don't shave, and don't even trim or you will STINK! Loose underwear (boxers) might help, too, but the hair is the most important thing. Shaving is really very unhygienic.

Get some underwear made out of wicking material. It pulls the moisture away from your skin. And actually if you shave down there it will make it easier for the fabric to wick away from your balls.

thinner or none - commando is way better to ventilate and feels great too.
